P3 visa

The P3 visa is a non-immigrant visa category in the United States designed for artists and entertainers coming to the U.S. to participate in culturally unique programs. It applies to individuals or groups involved in traditional, folk, ethnic, or other unique cultural performances or presentations. To qualify, applicants must demonstrate that their work is integral to a culturally unique event or activity, which can include workshops, performances, or educational programs. A U.S.-based sponsor, such as an employer or agent, must file Form I-129, Petition for Nonimmigrant Worker, on behalf of the applicant. The P3 visa allows artists and entertainers to perform temporarily in the U.S., typically for the duration of their approved program, with a maximum initial stay of one year, extendable in one-year increments. This visa also permits essential support personnel, such as technicians, to accompany the main performers if their role is integral to the event.
